While we wait for Apple to release iOS 5.0.2 to fix the remaining bugs that is affecting battery life, it has seeded the third beta version of iOS 5.1 to developers of iOS developer program.iOS 5.1 beta 3 (build 9B5127a) is available for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad 1, 3rd gen iPod touch and 4th gen iPod touch, but seems to be currently available only via over-the-air updates so it is not clear what new features and improvements Apple has introduced in this version.
It has been almost a month since Apple released a new beta version for iOS 5.1. iOS 5.1 beta 2 release notes revealed that users will finally be able to delete photos from the Photo Stream on their iOS device, which will be removed automatically from Photo Stream on their other iOS devices as well.
We wonder if Apple has decided to ditch the plan of releasing iOS 5.0.2 and directly launch iOS 5.1.
Update 1:
It looks like the Settings toggle for 3G cellular data access has been restored, according to MacRumors.
Update 2:
According to reports, iOS 5.1 beta 3 is available for download via the iOS developer program portal.
Update 3:
iH8sn0w - developer of popular jailbreak tool Sn0wbreeze has just tweeted that Apple has again started encrypting ramdisks in iOS 5.1 beta 3.
Interesting... Apple began encrypting the ramdisks (again) as of today's new beta [9B5141a].
For some strange reason Apple had released a tweaked version of iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4S with decrypted ram disks making it possible for hackers to release a Siri port legally.
Update 4:
iH8sn0w reports that iOS 5.1 beta 3 expires on March 14th.
