Miss California USA 2011, Alyssa Campanella, has just been crowned Miss USA 2011 at the national finale held in Las Vegas. Alyssa Campanella will represent the United States in Miss Universe in Brazil in September. The first runner-up was Ashley Durham, Miss Tennessee USA 2011, the second runner-up was Madeline Mitchell, Miss Alabama USA 2011 and the third runner-up was Ana Rodriguez, Miss Texas USA 2011.

Alyssa Campanella (born March 21, 1990) is a beauty pageant titleholder from the United States, who is the current titleholder and winner of the 2011 Miss USA pageant. She was also the first runner-up in the 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant and represented California in the 2011 Miss USA pageant.
Miss Teen USA
In October 2006, Campanella was crowned Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2007 and represented her state at Miss Teen USA 2007, broadcast live from Pasadena, California on August 24, 2007, placing first runner up to eventual winner, Hilary Cruz of Colorado.
Miss USA
Campanella competed in the Miss New Jersey USA pageant twice, placing first runner-up in 2008 and in the top fifteen in 2009.

[/caption]On November 21, 2010, she competed in the Miss California USA pageant and won the title. She was the first Miss Teen USA state delegate to represent California at Miss USA since Shauna Gambill in 1998. She was heavily favored by Vegas oddsmakers to win the title of Miss USA.
On June 19, 2011, she won the Miss USA title in Las Vegas, Nevada. As Miss USA 2011, she will go on to compete in Miss Universe 2011 in September.
Her passions are hockey and space exploration.

Miss USA 2011 Swimsuit Competition

Dressed in patriotic red, white and blue bikini swimsuits, the 51 contestants strutted their stuff for the judges.
During the past six decades, several states have seen far more than their fair share of Miss USA winners: Texas, 9, California, 5, New York, Hawaii and Illinois, 4 each.
The 60th Annual Miss USA Pageant was held at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Miss California Alyssa Campanella was crowned Miss USA 2011. The preliminary swimsuit competition took place on Thursday, June 15.
