Miniot’s iPad 2 Cover Merges Apple’s Smart Cover Design With Wood

The coolest thing that Apple unveiled at the ‘Come See What 2011 Will Be Year Of’ event was the iPad Smart Cover and not the iPad 2 as we more or less expected the new features and improvements based on the rumors and speculations.
Apple say that it’s not just smart, it’s genius and we completely agree, it’s a must have accessory for the iPad 2. But folks at Holland based Miniot have merged Apple's Smart Cover design with wood.Miniot’s iPad 2 wooden cover offers the same kind of features as Apple’s iPad 2 case such as:
  • Built-in magnet arrays that allows it to nest perfectly and aligned with iPad 2
  • The ultrasuede microfiber lining also offers scratch protection
  • The cover wakes up iPad automatically just like the iPad 2 smart cover
  • The cover can also be rolled into a cylinder that is useful as it makes it easier while typing, watching video and also can be used in portrait orientations (which is not possible with Apple’s smart cover)
You can checkout the video of Minot’s cover in action:
You can compare it to Apple’s iPad 2 case below:

Miniot’s iPad 2 cover costs 50 Euros, which is comparable to Apple’s iPad 2 leather smart cover, which costs $69 but more expensive then the polyurethane smart cover, which costs $39.
