We have heard several rumors and speculations that claim that the second generation iPad will get retina display like iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G and also come with front and back facing cameras.
9to5Mac is reporting that developers who have been digging into the internals of iOS 4.3 have discovered references, which indicate that iPad 2 will have the ability to take photos and shoot videos but it may not get retina display.9to5Mac reports:
We found four interesting files in the latest SDK and they all amount to the next-generation iPad having a camera. You will notice the same shutter screen as found on the iPhone and iPod touch in addition to camera roll icons for videos and pictures. We opened up the camera shutter images and the size is 1024 x 768, which is the same resolution as the current iPad. No higher-resolution screen on iPad 2?
We have noted earlier that though we expect the display of the second generation iPad to be of higher resolution than on the current generation iPad, it won't be a retina display like iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G due to the following reasons:- Price for such a large retina display could be prohibitive as in the case of iPhone 4, the retina display is the single most expensive component.
- A larger retina display required for an iPad would need 2560 x 1920 = 4,915,200 pixels to match the clarity of iPhone 4, which is not possible to render with the technology available currently.
