When folks at iFixit disassembled iPad 2, they had raised concerns over the thickness of the glass screen, which is 27% thinner than iPad 1. They felt that it could drastically reduce the durability of iPad 2, especially the glass' resistance to shattering.
But a new test by folks at iFixYouri shows that iPad 2’s glass screen is in fact stronger than iPad 1 even though its thinner.9to5Mac reports:
It turns out that the iPad 2 glass is just as strong as the original iPad’s glass and because it is is a bit more flexible has more bending tolerances. To quote the guy not wearing gloves:
“That glass was redonkulously strong!”
