There have been a bunch of rumors in the past few weeks that the iPad 2 would come with a front-facing camera for Apple's FaceTime video calling feature. However, these rumors and speculations were based on reports from part vendors and accessory makers.
There was nothing from Apple that suggested that these features would arrive on the iPad 2 until iOS 4.3 Beta was released earlier this month. Macrumors has noticed that iOS 4.3 Beta 2 contains even more evidence, which indicates that the second generation iPad will get a front facing camera and also come pre-installed with Apple's FaceTime, Camera and Photo Booth app.An image that has been used as a reference to preview the wallpaper selection on an iPad running iOS 4.3 Beta 2 has the icons for FaceTime, Camera and the Photo Booth app. These icons are absent in iOS 4.2, which only shows the standard iOS icons – minus these three icons.
This indicates that users will be able to make FaceTime video calls with iPad 2. The camera app would be obviously used for taking images. There is no clarity if it would come with a rear camera.The Photo Booth is likely to be the Mac OS X Photo Booth app ported to iOS. This is a fun app that allows users to click pictures and add fun filters to them. In iOS 4.3 beta 2, the filters included are Thermal Camera, Mirror, X-Ray, Kaleidoscope, Light Tunnel, Squeeze, Twirl and Stretch.
