iPad 2 May Not Come With 2048×1536 Screen Resolution; Rumored For iPad 3

If you were hoping that iPad 2 comes with a 2048*1536 screen resolution, prepare to be disappointed.
According to IDC analyst Tom Mainelli, Apple has just requested its component makers to begin work on the super high resolution 2048*1536 display. This means it would be futile to expect such a screen in the second generation iPad, which is expected to be released in March or April. Instead, it is more likely that the third generation iPad will get the super high resolution display - sometime in 2012.Mainelli claims:
I don’t believe anybody is ready to produce that resolution in volumes at this point. And Apple is going to require huge volumes for the iPad 2,
Manielli also expects the iPad to take “the lion’s share” of the tablet market in 2011. It is expected that this year would see at least 44.6 million tablets being sold across the globe. The iPad 2 would have the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) based tablets as well as the BlackBerry PlayBook as its chief competitors in 2011.
Apart from the high resolution screen rumor, we are also hearing rumors that iPad 2 may get at least a front facing video camera for Facetime video calls. The second generation iPad is also expected to be thinner, lighter and faster than the current generation iPad.
Do you think Apple would stick to the current resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels for the iPad 2?
