The New York Times and other publications are also reporting that ‘people with knowledge of the matter’ have told them Apple will unveil iPad 2 at a media event on March 2nd just as we had reported earlier today.
9 to 5 Mac reports that according to their source, Apple’s second generation iPad will be available only towards the end of March.9 to 5 Mac reports:
Sources have confirmed to us that the second generation iPad will be announced in the next 7-14 days (backs up the rumored March 2nd date) and will be available towards the end of March. This will fit perfectly with Apple’s usual annual update for iOS products.
Based on the rumors and speculations iPad 2 is expected to be thinner, lighter and get at least a front facing camera, more memory and faster processor. iPad 2 is also expected to get a thinner and anti-reflection screen but may not get iPhone 4-like retina display.
Last year, Apple had unveiled the iPad in February and started selling it in early April so these rumors fits perfectly with Apple’s annual product cycle for the iPad.
