iPhone 4S Vs iPhone 4 Speed Test: Boot Up Time, App Launching Speed, Web Browsing Performance & Gaming Performance

iPhone 4S comes with Apple's faster dual core A5 system on chip, so it is no doubt faster than iPhone 4, which is powered by the previous generation A4 chip. According to Apple, A5 chip delivers up to two times more power and up to seven times faster graphics. To find out exactly what it means in the real world, folks at Pocket Now have just posted a video where they've compared iPhone 4S with iPhone 4 in four areas: boot-up time, app launching speed, web browsing performance, and gaming performance.
They report:
The 4S is the clear winner when it comes to boot-up time and app launching speed, and it most definitely provides smoother gaming performance with visibly higher frame rates in our test game, Asphalt 6. But for web browsing, there wasn't a clear winner in our test. Further, our 3G data speed showed faster data speeds on the iPhone 4, but this is likely an anomaly, since the iPhone 4S can access AT&T's faster HSPA+ speeds.
You can checkout the video of the speed test below:
Based on the speed tests, they conclude:
Overall, the 4S is a significant bump in speed over the 4, but it's not huge.

We were a little surprised by the web browsing performance results as we have noticed that web pages load much faster on iPhone 4S.
